gps locator’s/trackers for dogs . do you use them or want to? thoughts ?
as all my dogs like to explore thought it about time to buy all of them one ,after the accident the other day , i thought this would be a a must when a dog has injured its self and would help you find your loved friend within the golden hour.
i have always wondered were they get to , what speed they are going were they are in relation to the rest when out hunting ect, ect
now i dont really want to have another device whilst out and know these systems are available were you can use your smart phone and google maps to locate them, and log info at a later date
so wondered if any one else uses these , how they work , ie with mobile phone sim cards and costs or is that just in emergency it locate , and tracking done all the time .

I have several friends that deer hunt with dogs (legal in Louisiana) and they all use the tracking collars for their dogs. It eliminates the many hours of rounding them up after the hunt by allowing them to go straight to the dogs. They no longer lose a high dollar dog that they could not find.
And if the dogs are hunted in the Kisatchie National Forest they are required by law to have the tracking collars on the dogs.
I believe it would be a good investment to have the tracking collars. It is my understanding that they use mobile phones but I could be mistaken.
